Elderly woman reading to childrenCulpepper Garden residents have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities to meet their diverse interests. Volunteer- and partner-led activities are organized by ARHC, Resident Services and the Resident Association. These activities include:

  • Exercise classes and wellness programs
  • Special events
  • Current events, topical discussions and book club
  • Musical and theatrical performances
  • Faith-based services and activities
  • Sing-alongs
  • Birthday parties
  • Holiday parties
  • Bingo and games
  • Crafts and knitting
  • Movies
  • Free tickets to a variety of off-site cultural and sports events
  • Monthly newsletter

Resident Association
All our residents are members of Culpepper Garden’s active Resident Association, which has no dues. This group meets monthly and, through volunteer committees, plays a proactive role in encouraging a strong sense of community at Culpepper Garden. The association: 

  • Runs the variety shop
  • Administers the raised-bed gardens available onsite
  • Sponsors special events, activities and outings
  • Funds projects and programs to benefit residents
  • Works with staff on menus and other services
  • Volunteers within Culpepper Garden
  • Welcomes new residents

Culpepper Garden maintains a strong relationship with Arlington's Senior Programs and encourages residents to actively participate. Program fees are minimal; many are free. View a schedule of activities.
